Codex Beasts of Annihilation

By Robert Kaye

This codex is designed to represent an army of possessed marines, in this case the Beasts of Annihilation who seem to consist of possessed marines when mentioned in the chaos space marine codex. There is a slight modification to when the daemonkin results are rolled since so many players love the possessed models but find them to be overcosted given their ineffectiveness if a 1 is rolled, among other weaknesses. Hopefully, with the reasonable modifications made to the army fans of possessed and their miniatures should be able to field an effective and balanced army of them in 40k. Note that although the infantry are resilient, they will often struggle against heavy infantry and vehicles like land raiders, and therefore a combined arms approach is best when dealing with opponents that can field such units. Since the possessed marines have their armour distorted and damaged by the possession, and because possessed terminators would be too powerful, it is considered impossible for them to fit inside terminator armour.

Special Rule: Familiar with Possession: Due to the familiarity that the Beasts of Annihilation have with being daemonically possessed they are more able to determine how the daemons within each unit will alter their host. Therefore units with the Daemonkin rule roll on the Daemonkin chart before deployment.
